A LITTLE SOMETHING IS COMING
Big ideas.
Little footprint.
A semantic layer that goes
where your app goes.
We're building RooQL: a small, embedded query compiler that keeps your metrics together and your apps moving.

THE IDEA IS SIMPLE
Your metrics.
Along for the ride.
Apps are getting easier to build. Keeping their business logic in sync should be, too.
Define “revenue” once.
Let every app speak the same language.
RooQL is exploring a different home for the semantic layer: right inside your application. Bring shared metric definitions, ask for the data you need, and compile a query your warehouse can run.
A little compiler in your app's pocket. One less service to stand up.
Take a peek under the pouchA SMALL LOOK AT THE BIG IDEA
CONCEPT PREVIEWGive your metrics a home.
Keep metrics and dimensions in a shared Apache Ossie model.
Pack a little RooQL.
Turn named metrics into SQL with a compiler bundled into your app.
Let your warehouse work.
Run the SQL through your existing connection. Put the results to use.
This is the direction we're building toward. We're working on the proof of concept now.
GOOD THINGS START SMALL
Be there for
the first hop.
We're still in the workshop. Leave your email for early access and the occasional note from behind the scenes.
A little early. A little curious. Just like us.Save your spot.

A FEW SMALL DETAILS
Curious?
Good.
Can I try RooQL today?
Not just yet. We're building the proof of concept. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know when there's something ready to try.
Who is RooQL for?
Developers building data apps, dashboards, and AI-generated artifacts who want to reuse shared metric definitions without running a separate semantic query service.
Is it a database?
No. RooQL is being designed to compile metric queries into SQL. Your existing warehouse executes the SQL, and your application handles connections and permissions.
Why a kangaroo?
A kangaroo carries what matters in its pouch. We like the idea of your app carrying a small semantic compiler wherever it goes. Also, excellent ears.
